Food & Beverage: A Roundtable Discussion
07.20.2020
Los Angeles Business Journal

Pooja S. Nair, Chair of ECJ’s Food, Beverage and Hospitality Department, was recently featured in the Los Angeles Business Journal’s expert roundtable discussion on the impact of COVID-19 on the food and beverage industry.

In the roundtable, Pooja discusses legal and regulatory uncertainty facing the industry as a result of shutdowns caused by the pandemic. Restaurants and bars are being faced with public health concerns and are struggling to remain open while other segments of the industry, including consumer-packaged goods, alcohol and grocery, are seeing a rise in demand. However, these industries are facing challenges to supply chain, e-commerce and delivery practices.

As Pooja highlights, the pandemic has been a major disruptive force across the food and beverage industry. In addition to public health concerns, legal protections for employees and customers create potential liabilities as companies attempt reopening.
