Pooja S. Nair, Partner and Chair of ECJ’s Food, Beverage and Hospitality Department, will speak at the Washington State Bar Association's webinar on the Legal Considerations for the Food, Beverage and Hospitality Industry on May 12th. 

This half-day seminar provides an overview and discussion of legal considerations for companies operating in the food, beverage and hospitality industries. Topics include trends in litigation and regulations regarding product labeling and advertising, IP considerations, and cannabis in the food and beverage industry.

Join Pooja for her presentation titled, "Trends in Litigation and Regulations in Product Labeling and Advertising: What the Food and Beverage Industry Needs to Know." Her presentation will discuss the evolving definition of the "reasonable consumer" standard and how this has shaped federal circuit court decisions, particularly in granting motions to dismiss cases at early stages. The presentation will also cover recently enacted rules by the FTC, FDA, and state agencies regarding the advertising and labeling of food and beverage products, and trends in this area to anticipate in the second year of the Biden Administration.
