Pooja Nair, Partner of ECJ’s Food, Beverage and Hospitality Department was quoted in a December 2022 Law360 article titled, "4 Tips For Complying With LA's Fair Workweek Law ”
"Even if a retailer only has one location in LA and only employs, say, 50 people, if they have other branches of the same retailer in different cities that add up to 300, they're going to be subject to this law," said Pooja Nair.
The article emphasizes on how Los Angeles joins the new fair workweek laws and how retailers should prepare by looking at how they staff up and schedule workers during the busy holiday shopping season.
Under Los Angeles' new fair workweek law, retailers in the city with 300 or more employees globally must giveworkers at least two weeks' notice of schedules and provide premium pay for schedule changes.
