Austin began his legal career in the real estate department at Allen Matkins. He also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Catherine E. Bauer of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California and as a senior copy editor for the Southern California Interdisciplinary Law Journal.
