Overview

Banu Naraghi is a Partner in the Litigation Department.

Banu's practice focuses on commercial and trust litigation, representing business owners, trustees, beneficiaries, and companies in matters involving trust and fiduciary disputes, commercial contracts, and shareholder and derivative actions. She also works to protect the value behind a company's brand and innovations from competitors copying its products, imitating its trademarks, or trading off its goodwill and reputation. She tailors her litigation strategy to her client's business objectives, whether that means pursuing an efficient resolution or building the strongest possible case for trial.

During law school, Banu was a Clinical Intern for the Intellectual Property and Technology Law Clinic, which provides free legal assistance to artists, filmmakers, video game developers and start-up companies. Banu also previously worked as an A&R intern for Sony/ATV Music Publishing and Atlantic Records.

Representative Matters

Successfully obtained summary judgment of a claim for direct and contributory patent infringement on behalf of a client for patents covering technology for combatting COVID-19 and similar contagions in aircrafts.

Obtained a favorable settlement on behalf of a beneficiary in an action involving the diversion of trust assets and self-dealing by trustees.

Obtained a favorable settlement on behalf of a business owner in a dispute between business partners over the control of a closely held company.

Obtained favorable settlements on behalf of a clothing brand and footwear manufacturer in trademark infringement actions involving nationally recognized brands.

Obtained a favorable settlement on behalf of an international restaurant operator in a joint venture dispute involving franchisees.
