Reid Miller is an Associate in the Real Estate Department.
Reid’s practice covers a broad range of real estate transactions in connection with the acquisition, management, development and sale of commercial and residential real estate, including forming, structuring, capitalizing and documenting ownership entities through which real and personal property is owned and exchanged. His practice experience includes office, retail and other commercial leasing, as well as counseling clients on California’s Proposition 13 and property tax issues related to changes of ownership, applicable exceptions to property reassessment, and tax deferral strategies.
Prior to joining ECJ, Reid worked at a midsize law firm in Northern California where he provided advice and transactional services to individuals and businesses pertaining to organizational and entity formation decisions, real estate and related corporate transactions, and business succession planning involving the transfer of real property and closely held companies.
Reid received his J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of law, where he served as a literary editor of the Maritime Law Journal, a survey author for the University of San Francisco Intellectual Property Law Bulletin and a two-time participant in the Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court Competition. He also served as a Judicial Extern for the Hon. Linda Colfax and Hon. Michael Begert of the San Francisco County Superior Court.
Reid enjoys writing, film photography, oil painting, collecting music, tennis, and Thai cooking.
