Patrick Emerson McCormick is an Associate in the Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution Department.
Patrick focuses his practice on intellectual property, corporate technology and emerging industries litigation in California and federal courts. He has represented directors, officers, tech giants, content creators, distributors, financiers, banks and law firms.
Patrick handles any issues his clients come across, from formation to dissolution and everything in between, be it profit sharing, licensing, real estate or derivative actions. Patrick knows that each client is different and gets to understand their business personally so that he can provide not only the best legal counsel, but also achieve the most financially beneficial outcome for his clients.
As a Certified Blockchain Professional, Patrick has developed a deep understanding of this cutting-edge technology and stays up-to-date on the latest developments so he can assist clients with any blockchain issues through all stages of litigation, from discovery to collecting a judgment.
During law school, Patrick worked at the USC Intellectual Property and Technology Law Clinic, where he represented clients in rights negotiations, E&O insurance obtainment and fair use analysis, and participated in roundtables at the US Copyright Office, lobbying for orphan works reform. He also externed for the Honorable Neil W. Bason of the Central District of California Bankruptcy Court.
