Jeff Glassman, Partner in ECJ’s Business & Corporate Department, will be presenting, “What You Need to Know: Privacy, Security CCPA in Tech,” on May 15, 2019 at the General Assembly in Downtown Los Angeles. Jeff, who specializes in serving as outside counsel to emerging growth companies, has extensive knowledge of information technology and data security laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). He will be speaking alongside Dave Watts, President of NetFusion, an enterprise-level IT practices and solutions provider, as they discuss the scope of the CCPA and provide insight into how you can prepare for the new privacy and data security standards.
On January 1, 2020, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) goes into effect, impacting every business in California. This bill will enforce guidelines on personal information collection and post-data-acquisition data usage by businesses. This event will help companies avoid user backlash, lawsuits, and regulatory problems.
