On June 26, 2015, Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo signed Senate Bill 134, the Identity Theft Prevention Act of 2015 (the “Act”). The Act updates Rhode Island’s 2005 data breach notification law by, among other things, requiring affected companies and agencies to implement a “risk-based information security program which contains reasonable security procedures and practices appropriate to the size and scope of the organization.” Click here.
