Peter Jazayeri is an associate in ECJ’s Bankruptcy and Reorganization Department. His practice focuses on financial restructuring matters, including debtor/creditor rights, corporate reorganization, commercial transactions and workouts. Mr. Jazayeri has appeared in restructuring matters involving a broad base of industries, including financial and commodity exchanges, energy companies, industrial enterprises, telecommunications providers, and internet firms. He has advised companies accused of market manipulation, directors and officers charged with breaches of fiduciary duties or fraud, and trading firms involved in liquidations, market disruptions, and setoffs. Mr. Jazayeri received his law degree from The George Washington University Law School in 1998, and his undergraduate degree cum laude from UCLA.
In addition, Mr. Jazayeri has authored numerous articles on market compliance, regulation, manipulation, and risk management. He has also spoken on these topics to bar associations, trade groups, businesspeople, and continuing legal education programs. He currently serves as Secretary for the Energy Bar Association’s Western Chapter, and is a former member of the organization’s Board of Directors.
Mr. Jazayeri was selected by the editors of Law and Politics as a Superlawyers Rising Star in 2007 and 2008.
