James A. Kohn is Of Counsel to ECJ’s Litigation and Real Estate Departments. Mr. Kohn specializes in real estate and business litigation, real estate transactions and in providing legal counsel to business owners.
Mr. Kohn has substantial experience in representing clients in the purchase, sale, leasing and financing of real estate and in the organization and operation of a wide variety of businesses. He has conducted jury trials, non-jury trials and arbitrations for both plaintiffs and defendants in real estate and business disputes involving significant claims. Mr. Kohn has also served as a Judge Pro Tem of the Beverly Hills Municipal Court and as a Professor of Law at the University of LaVerne Law School.
Mr. Kohn received his undergraduate degree from Harvard College in 1958 and his law degree from Harvard Law School in 1961. He was admitted to the California Bar in 1962. Mr. Kohn was an associate with Voegelin Barton Harris & Callister from 1962 to 1964 and a partner of Ginsburg and Kohn from 1964 to 1979. Mr. Kohn was a senior partner of Nebenzahl Kohn Davies & Leff from 1979 to June 30, 2003.
