David Bricker is Of Counsel to ECJ’s Litigation Department. Mr. Bricker has extensive trial experience in a variety of fields including medical and legal malpractice, hospital negligence, products liability, employment related discrimination, bankruptcy, business and commercial litigation, and trademark and copyright law. Mr. Bricker brings to his clients years of experience in preparing and trying complex matters in both State and Federal court.
Throughout his career, Mr. Bricker has specialized in the representation of catastrophically injured individuals with particular emphasis on assisting injured children. During his career, Mr. Bricker’s expertise and trial skills have produced landmark verdicts in favor of injured plaintiffs including Perry v. Shaw, (2001) 88 Cal.App.4th 658, the only reported case to have overcome California’s statutory limit on medical malpractice damage awards. Mr. Bricker also received a verdict of almost $32 million in favor of a child severely injured by the negligence of a hospital’s delivery room staff. In addition, Mr. Bricker has devoted a significant portion of his practice to the representation of labor unions and their members. His clients have included members of the United Transportation Union and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers as well as members of the United Firefighters of Los Angeles City and the International Association of Firefighters.
Mr. Bricker was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. He graduated from Pitzer College in Claremont, California, in 1987 with a B.A. in Political Science and received his J.D. from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1991.
Mr. Bricker is a member of the Consumer Attorneys of California, the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles, the Litigation Section of the American Bar Association and the Litigation Section of the American Trial Lawyers Association. He also serves as a volunteer arbitrator for the Los Angeles Superior Court.
